No experience is required! If you are an inexperienced fisherman or want to bring a child don’t be discouraged, there are miles of mangrove shorelines, flats, beaches, and secluded backcountry that provide limitless opportunities for beginning or advanced anglers. Chris is dedicated to sharing his knowledge to ensure a memorable fishing experience for everyone. He will even bait your hook and cast for you. Everyone starts somewhere and we would love it if you did it with us.

Our 2024 Shoalwater 23 Cat, is powered by a Mercury ProXS 200 four-stroke motor. The large front casting platform and rear deck provide ample room for 4-6 anglers to fish comfortably. Drafting only 8 inches, the Shoalwater Cat is capable of navigating the shallow waters along the Nature Coast of Florida and the chop of the bays in the Tampa Bay area. The vessel has large live wells, state-of-the-art electronics, first aid, trauma kits, and all safety equipment required by law and the USCG, and the U.S. Coast Guard is inspected annually. (no bathroom) Our boat is serviced and maintained regularly so you're always safe while out on the waters. Captain Chris obeys all state laws and regulations as safety is a priority.

Charters can only be rescheduled in case of unfavorable weather conditions at the Captain’s discretion. It is our discretion to go or not to go.  If the captain thinks you will not be able to enjoy your trip, then at his discretion, he will cancel the charter.  Captain Chris wants you to have a safe and enjoyable trip. Rule of thumb, we generally do not go out on bad days. Should the determination be made that bad weather will be a factor for your fishing charter the Captain will call you about rescheduling. If we are forced to cancel your charter due to weather and are unable to reschedule your deposit will be refunded in full within 7 days.

Captain Chris specializes in quality inshore/nearshore and light tackle fishing, matching the equipment to the species of fish targeted.  He will recommend what types of fishing will be most productive and do everything possible to tailor it to your experience.

Give Epic Tails a call, text, or send an email to ask any questions you may have. Captain Chris will be happy to help you customize your charter or excursion to ensure you have an epic day.
